The Ultimate Chill Out Playlist
Everybody has those days- those days when you just want to be alone; when you only need a bit of peace and quiet; or perhaps, you just need a soothing voice to tell you to chill and take things easily. I think most of us can relate to these thoughts, but everyone has a different way of dealing with them. The way I chill myself out after a long, hard, tiring day is by listening to some relaxing tunes in the darkness in bed – it really does help! So, this article is going to be a summary of my top ten chill out songs, and just why I find them special.
The Power of Goodbye by Madonna
This is always one you should play when feeling even just a tad stressed, or just need to think something through. The song is all about saying goodbye to someone you love, and although that may seem depressing and negative, its lyrics are so uplifting and the tune is the sweetest melody.
Time To Say Goodbye by Lauren Aquilina
Lauren changes the song completely, putting her own spin on the key and mood, making it one of the most meaningful songs I’ve ever heard. A soulful delight of a song!
Not About Angels by Birdy
Featured in the The Fault In Our Stars film, this song is one of the most perfect pieces ever recorded, with lyrics that are truly mesmerizing. The piece shines a bright light on a sad situation, and does the best job at relaxing you. Have a listen and see what you think.
Lovesong by Adele
This fabulous love song has a whole host of things to adore, from the lyrics, to the tune, the soulfulness, and the originality. In my opinion, it’s one of Adele’s best songs.
Every Breath You Take by The Police
It may be classic, but this song for me will never go out of date. The vocals are so distinctive, and the soft rock mood is just wonderful to listen to. Try lying in bed in the dark listening to this marvelous piece – the perfect way to end the day.
So Sick by Ne-Yo
This song is so well put together, and the instruments used are the perfect combination. The reason many love this talented artist’s voice is because he just sounds so clear and smooth when he sings.
I See Fire by Ed Sheeran
The lyrics are beautiful and as for the vocals… well, Ed smashed it. This is just one of the many relaxing Ed Sheeran songs I love as well as Photograph and A-Team, but no wonder he has so many female fans!
Ave Maria by Beyonce
Wow, this song certainly is lovely. This is unlike any other song the global star has ever recorded, and the relaxing melody will have you drowsy and ready for bed in a matter of three blissful minutes! Why not give it a listen?
Crazy In Love by Sofia Karlberg
I absolutely adore this song and artist to pieces. Sofia’s voice is so soft and relaxing, and the cover is even better than Beyonce’s original. Sofia’s voice is not only soulful, but you can really connect with what she’s singing. Definitely one of my favourites.
Red Rover by Paper Aeroplanes
Last but not least, Red Rover. This is a song that grew and grew on me. The melody is simply wonderful, and my favourite thing about this song is the beautiful acoustic track. Give this a listen, it’s one of the most relaxing pieces going.
