Scream Queens: Your New Favourite Show
You’d have to be living under a rock if you haven’t heard of Scream Queens.
I sat down yesterday to binge all five episodes that are existence in the US so far – and it’s safe to say, it’s definitely one to watch.
So, what’s it about?
Think of a spoof TV series that comically adopts elements from the Scream movie franchise, the Scream TV show, the Scary Movie(s), the Greek TV series and Mean Girls. It’s not something to be taken too seriously, but there’s still a crime-mystery element that keeps us watching.
The star-studded cast is enough to get you excited, from horror movie actress Jamie Lee Curtis to child stars and pop stars such as Emma Roberts, Keke Palmer, Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas – not to mention Oliver Hudson (the actor from Rules of Engagement and Nashville).
As well as a hot cast, there’s also a great soundtrack to the show, setting the theme of characters being stuck in their past and having to deal with the brats that are the result of a generation brought up by technology.
This show is basically a satire of cult horror, disaster and teen movies. It’s a perfect guilty pleasure and definitely one to watch for comedic value rather and less for the story lines! It’s super stereotypical and loves to reenact famous Slasher movie scenes.
Scream Queens is one of those silly shows that we know we really shouldn’t be watching – but just can’t stop.
If you’re interested in Scream Queens, it’s currently being promoted as ‘Coming Soon’ to the UK on E4.
Give it a watch when it gets released and let us know what you think in the comments below!
