Feel-Good Food for a Feel Bad (Valentine’s) Day
So you’re single and it’s Valentine’s Day, and suddenly that New Year’s Resolution you made about shedding those extra ten pounds is seeming unimportant. Who cares if you just jogged for three hours yesterday? You want to finish off that carton of ice cream waiting for you in the freezer! Who cares if you cut carbohydrates out of your diet last week? You need to slather that warm loaf of french bread with butter and feel it melt in your mouth. Did you really think we were going to encourage you to stick to your diet? It’s Eat More Cake! We’re a bad influence.
Beside being extremely fun to pronounce, a parfait is packed with nutrients and protein! It’s the perfect treat to supply you with the proper amount of energy to kick your ex-boyfriend’s arse… I mean, to supply you with the proper amount of brain power to think up a convincing alibi… I mean, to supply you with probiotic goodness that ensures a healthy gut. Let’s move on.
Real talk. Shepherd’s Pie is possibly the ultimate comfort food. It’s basically just a big bowl of your mother’s hugs, Grandma’s kisses and a snuggle with a litter of puppies. The pie consists of meat, potatoes and vegetables and it’s guaranteed to warm up your insides on a day you may be feeling especially cold.
Mac & Cheese
If you ask me, Mac and Cheese beats cheesy lines any Valentine’s Day. A common favourite for cheese lovers everywhere, this meal is nearly impossible to resist. Maybe you prefer elbow noodles. Maybe you prefer shells. I don’t know, everyone has a type. It’s cool.
Instead of dressing up and going out, why not dress up a waffle and throw your tastebuds a party! The dessert waffle is truly versatile. You could sprinkle it with sweets, drizzle it with sauces, and top it with nuts or cinnamon or… or…or TEARS. Sniffle. I’m okay. I’ll be okay…
Because we should all really just eat more of it.
