5 Celebrities That Need To Leave The Internet
Anyone who’s had access to the Internet in the past month has probably heard of the recent #AskThicke scandal, where the hashtag was meant to be used on Twitter to garner questions to ask Robin Thicke. While the hashtag did its job, the questions asked were more to do with the misogyny that Thicke has been profiting off of with both his single, Blurred Lines, and his newest album, Paula – an album literally designed as a plea for estranged wife Paula Patton to come back to him… probably not what VH1 quite had in mind.
Keeping in line with that, Eat More Cake decided to name 5 other celebrities that either underestimated the power of the Internet or don’t seem to grasp quite how to use it. Without further adieu, here’s our list:
1. Jaden Smith
Oh, Jaden. As the progeny of the charismatic and wonderful Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, he technically should have escaped this list on awesome level alone. However, his Twitter speaks differently. He comes first on the list because he doesn’t tweet anything too offensive or controversial. It just so happens that a lot of his tweets don’t make any sense out of context and he quite annoyingly Types Everything With A Capitalised Letter For No Reason. Some of the more surreal things he has tweeted include:
No One Belived Galileo Either.

You Can Discover Everything You Need To Know About Everything By Looking At Your Hands

Unawareness Is The Only Sin,
And If You Were Aware You Would Know.

What? Jaden Smith used Strange Tweets, it was super effective, and the entire Internet is now confused. Thanks, Jaden.
2. Charlie Sheen
Sheen combines both the nonsensical nature of Jaden Smith’s tweets with the insufferable childishness of a six-year-old. His long rant at Rihanna for not wanting to meet his fiancée was immature and oddly formatted, and it barely scratched the surface of some of the strange things he’s let loose on the Internet. To be honest, it’s hard to sum up exactly how ridiculous Sheen’s Twitter really is, so we’ll just leave you with this #winning pearl of wisdom from Sheen:
wen in doubt

love u all

3. Justin Bieber
Bieber has either publicised or at least participated in an absurd amount of controversial material on the Internet over the past two years. The pot was stirred in March 2013 when he signed the Anne Frank Museum guest book with the hope that “she would have been a Belieber”, but that was possibly forgivable. However in June 2013, a video was released by TMZ showing Bieber peeing into a bucket and cussing out a photo of Bill Clinton, and then in October 2013 a picture was released of Bieber being carried on the shoulders of two bodyguards up the Great Wall of China. While these examples are not too drastic, the fact remains that Bieber has extremely impressionable fans and he has been exhibiting an extremely bad attitude for them to see. Based off Bieber’s Internet presence, he seems to be someone who has let arrogance consume him – not a great example for his Beliebers, one would think!
But in 2014, things have escalated. He has been arrested and even as recently as last month was charged with criminal vandalism after egging his neighbour’s home; not to mention, a video of him covering his own song, One Less Lonely Girl was released with him replacing ‘Girl’ with a racist slur and the song being quite racist in nature, sparking a huge Internet frenzy.
However, there is still hope! He did at least apologise for some of his actions, seeming to understand why what he did was wrong. And he is only twenty years old, so there is plenty of time for him to make a better image for himself. We can only wait and see…
4. Donald Trump
First of all, the man quotes himself. He literally quotes himself, and retweets quotes by himself and then praises his own quotes. Trump is not exactly famed for having a small ego, after all. But that isn’t the only reason why he is on this list. He tweets racist statements and makes his disdain for Barack Obama very clear, and he has also expressed his agreement that vaccines increase the risk of autism in children – an argument that has been shut down hard this year.He ranks at #4 on this list mainly because his despicableness is somewhat less obvious on the Internet, but judging the number of retweets his more controversial tweets have gotten, the Donald needs a good kick in the pants off the World Wide Web. The Internet certainly does not need ANOTHER hugely negative and extremely influential celebrity, much like the last celebrity on our list…
5. Perez Hilton
Surprise, surprise. Perez Hilton is known for being essentially the Gossip Girl of the Internet, but much worse. While running a gossip blog isn’t exactly a crime, Hilton has been involved in many a civil litigation scandal and worst of all has used his blog in order to express his desire to out celebrities he claims are closeted. He literally stated, “[…] if I have to drag some people screaming out of the closet, then I will.” Admittedly, being part of celebrity culture does invite a certain amount of scrutiny into your life, but the boundaries Hilton crosses go beyond typical gossip blogging. He not only invades people’s privacy to an extreme extent but proceeds to profit from those invasions. There is an entire section on his Wikipedia page dedicated to the many controversial incidents he has been actively and directly involved in. That alone seems proof enough that Perez Hilton needs to leave the Internet for good – everywhere his Web trail goes, chaos seems to follow.
