3 Ways To Look And Feel Healthier
Keeping fit and healthy comes easily for some, but it’s extremely difficult and tiring for others. Whether you just can’t fit in the time, or you have no motivation, or are perhaps embarrassed to hit the gym, this article should guide and help you towards a healthy and happy lifestyle.
1. Eat a balanced diet
There’s nothing wrong with a cheeky slice of cake or a Yorkie bar in the evening when you’re craving, but just make sure you balance out what you eat, by eating a mix of healthy and sugary foods. Do not go extremely over the top with eating no fatty food, or you will begin to feel faint and have a sugar drop. For example, when you help yourself to that biscuit to go with your cup of tea in the evening, pick up a piece of fruit as well, such as a banana or an apple! Fruit is very good for your skin, as well as your inside health.
Breakfast– Porridge is a great and healthy start to the day. Otherwise, a bowl of muesli will go down great. Anything with bits of fruit or granola will do your body good. Don’t have much time to eat before work or school? Take a banana or a granola bar with you. Bananas are full of energy and will keep you focused!
Lunch– Things like nuts, fruit, and crackers are really good for your body. Of course, you don’t have to have them all in one go, but try and have at least one of these, with something nutritious like soup or a sandwich. Having too many crisps is bad for your skin, so refrain from having those too often!
Dinner– Try not to eat takeaways too often as they’re extremely greasy, full of calories/salt and bad for you! Once a week is probably a reasonable amount. With your meals, prepare a side salad or chop up some vegetables have with your meal. For example, salad goes perfectly with lasagne!
- Remember, just because food is there it doesn’t mean you have to finish it!
- Don’t eat too many sugary foods- this will cause spots and greasy skin.
2. Exercise Regularly
Ensure you get at least 50 minutes of exercise a week minimum. This could be by taking morning jogs, going on a treadmill, or even attending zumba classes! Zumba is definitely a great way of burning calories and body fat, and keeps your body toned. It is a lot of fun and increases confidence and happiness! There are plenty of Zumba classes around most locations, so it’s just about finding the right one for you! If you are embarrassed or too self conscious to go to a gym or go out running in public, try to relax yourself. Everyone who attends a gym is there for mostly the same reason, so don’t worry!
Zumba– A high energy work-out, for all ages. Great for burning calories, and losing weight.
Swimming– A great and fun way to exercise and work your arm and leg muscles.
Jogging– A good way to improve your stamina and work off those extra few pounds!
3. Take Care of Your Skin!
Make sure you care for your skin by:
- Cleansing your skin daily
- Washing your face twice a day
- Not wearing too much makeup- This can clog pores and lead to spots
- Using the right products on your skin
Conscious of your spots? I’d definitely recommend seeing your GP or nurse. They can prescribe you a strong cream or medicine to help get rid of spots. I used Duac cream for a long period of time and this cleared up my face for good!
Keeping healthy does take a lot of commitment and work, but anything is possible when you put your mind to it. Good luck!
